LONDON FASHION WEEK – DAY 4

So it’s Monday and today’s shows are the most highly anticipated. We have Erdem (beautiful florals), David Koma, Pringle, Burberry (high profile front row alert!) and, the show we’ve just been to see, Michael Van Der Ham.

Van Der Ham showed in a beautiful setting with its own bar for champagne and pumpkin risotto before the show. Yum. It was his first year showing Outerwear and Knitwear and provided a subtle growth to his look and feel as a designer.

Crushed velvets were the word of the day with colours ranging from ochre to burnt orange to teal green. Very rich, morish and very jewelled. Although dresses were the main look, trousers were either silky and wide legged or ripped to shredds and knitted. All were teamed with cute cropped boxy jumpers. Oh and the shoes! Seriously these were the slickest black suede wedge shoe boots you have seen making the models look even taller than they are. Who knew where legs ended and shoes began!

Front row spots were Bip Ling, a prolific fashion blogger in a cute pail or tailored culottes whilst team ELLE trotted up in chic coats (bet they were warmer than us in the queue). Winter looks like it will be a colourfully sleek affair.

Tonight for us is Mark Fast, the knitwear designer that continues to use larger models in his barely there creations. Hopefully it will be a show to remember.
