Though I love how easy summer dressing can be (just pull on a maxi dress with flat sandals and go), I miss the layers of cooler seasons. So I’m on the lookout for lightweight jackets that will pull together my look without adding extra bulk.

Denim jackets are a casual summer staple, anchoring mini floral dresses and bohemian maxis alike. But for evenings, dresses deserve a prettier pairing: Club Monaco’s cropped voile jacket and embellished short-sleeve jacket will be as essential for an evening soiree as a clutch and high-heel sandals. And rising temperatures don’t mean you have to give up leather.
